Created in the summer of 2010, Cross Border was originally a duo, with just Brian and Gwyneth playing and singing together at local music venues. Joined by Pete Luke on lead guitar in 2011 and then later by Jo Marklew on bass in 2012, the band were soon being appreciated at a growing number of folk and acoustic music clubs throughout Devon and Somerset.
With Brian, Gwyneth and Pete contributing main vocals in their own right, as well as lilting harmonies bringing interest and variety to all of their performances, Cross Border continued to grow with the addition of percussionist and cajon player Kevin Lee in 2013. Kevin left the band in 2015 to persue other interests and was replaced by world and ethnic drummer and percussionist Dave Lupton.
The bands' influences range from folk and folk/rock through to contemporary by way of country music, so their concerts have a wide ranging appeal.
